This is real Key Lime Pie—baked on the @traegergrills because why not make dessert a whole lot extra awesome? Tangy, sweet, and topped with a glorious pile of whipped cream, because meringue is fine but whipped cream gets me.
Preheat Traeger grill to 350°F.
In a large bowl, whisk egg yolks and sugar (if using) until the sugar has dissolved. Whisk in key lime juice, zest, and sweetened condensed milk. Pour mixture into prepared pie crust.
Place pie on a baking sheet before placing onto the grill. Bake pie for 20 minutes until the pie is almost set. The centre of the pie should still wobble a bit. Remove from grill and cool to room temperature. Refrigerate overnight prior to serving.
For the sweetened whipped cream: Whisk 1 cup cold heavy whipping cream and 3 tbsp confectioners sugar together until medium / stiff peaks form. For service, top the chilled pie with sweetened whipped cream and thin slices of key limes and zest as garnish if desired.
