Friendsgiving Showstopper Traeger Turkey

1. Follow the package instructions on how to brine your turkey. Add a little bit of whiskey to the brine. Once the brine is nice and cool, spatchcock your turkey. Make sure to brine your turkey in the fridge overnight.
2. When the turkey comes out of the brine, give it a quick rinse and a pat down with some paper towels.
3. Mix two sticks of softened unsalted butter with the Traegergrills turkey rub that comes with the kit.
4. Slather this butter under the skin, over the skin, basically anywhere there’s turkey meat. Give the entire turkey a light coating of Redmond Real Salt Organic Season Salt.
5. Preheat your Traeger grill to 350°F and make sure the hopper is filled with turkey pellets.
6. Insert a meat probe into the thickest part of the breast.
7. Grill until the breast meat reaches 162 to 165°F and at least 180°F in the thigh. (For a 14 lb turkey, this took about 3 hours).
8. Carve your turkey and enjoy!
