Delicious ground sirloin patties mixed with grated onion and spices, smoked for extra BBQ goodness, then served with a spicy bone broth black pepper gravy. Recommended with griddled mushrooms and green beans.
For the Patties: Mix all of the ground sirloin, grated sweet white onion, dried chives, minced garlic, and Traeger Prime Rib Rub in a bowl. Form 8 patties. Smoke the patties at 225F until the internal temperature reaches 115F. Then, increase the grill temperature to 350F and continue to grill until the internal temperature reaches 150F (serve more rare if preferred).
For the Bone Broth Gravy: In a small pot, bring the beef bone broth, black pepper, thyme, and onion powder to a boil. Reduce the liquid by one third. In a separate small bowl, mix 1/4 cup water with 2 tablespoons corn starch to create a slurry. Whisk the corn starch slurry into the simmering broth. Continue to simmer until the gravy has thickened. Serve the gravy over the meat patties and grilled mushrooms.
